Family Medicine Residency

Salary

As of January 1, 2023 the base salaries for the Family Medicine Residents are as follows:

  • PGY-1: $64,800

  • PGY-2: $66,480

  • PGY-3: $68,480

Residents are paid bi-weekly for 26 pay periods per year and direct deposit of your paycheck is available.

Benefits

Vacation:

KPC health systems benefits package includes four weeks of vacation per year for each Resident. Unused vacation time may not be carried over to the following academic year.  Vacations are scheduled one week at a time, under certain circumstances a maximum two weeks may be taken at a time. Requests are reviewed as a case-by-case basis.

Food Allowance: 

Graduate medical education provides a monthly stipend to each resident. The stipend is intended to provide a meal while working a shift and does not carry over month to month. A resident can spend a maximum of 10 dollars per meal, breakfast and lunch.

  • Medical health insurance coverage (HMO and PPO options available)

  • Worker’s compensation, disability, life, and accident insurance

  • Dental Insurance

  • Vision Care

  • Long-term disability insurance plan

Leave of Absence:

  • Medical, parental, and caregiver leave(s) are available to all house staff in accordance with ACGME Institutional Requirements. Medical leave is granted in accordance with KPC Health systems Human Resources Policies and Procedures.

  • KPC Health FMLA leave policies are consistent with Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993.

Research: 

  • Residents are involved in various ongoing research projects. Research scholarships are available for residents to apply for and are collectively reviewed and awarded on a case-by-case basis. 

Annual educational stipend: 

  • Residents are provided a maximum of 2,000 per academic year to cover the costs of learning and licensing expenses. This includes but not limited to, license application fees, exam fees, medical books, equipment, and are reimbursed in a case-by-case basis.
